End-of-Line Testing and Traceability for Pump Motors
A pump maker needs every BLDC pump motor tested and traceable before dispatch.
The challenge
- Motors were tested by sampling, so faulty units sometimes reached customers.
- There was no record linking a returned motor to its production data.
- Sealed motors also needed leak testing.
Our solution
We added a leak testing station and an end-of-line tester after final assembly. Each motor is laser marked with a DataMatrix code; the tester reads the code, runs safety, no-load and load tests, and stores results against the serial number for export to the customer's ERP.
What the project was designed to deliver
- 100% testing instead of sampling
- Searchable test history for every motor
- Automatic rejection of failed units
