Hub Motor Winding Cell for E-Rickshaw Motors
An e-rickshaw motor maker needs to replace manual winding of large outer stators with a machine.
The challenge
- Manual winding of thick wire was slow and turn counts varied between operators.
- Phase resistance imbalance was causing motors to run hot.
- Several stator sizes had to run on the same equipment.
Our solution
We supplied a heavy-duty outer stator needle winder with parallel-wire winding, closed-loop tension and quick-change mandrels for each stator size. A stator tester at the unload station checks resistance balance and surge before the stator leaves the cell.
What the project was designed to deliver
- Consistent turn count and resistance across all phases
- Changeover between stator sizes by recipe and mandrel swap
- A test record for every wound stator
