Outer Rotor Magnet Bonding and Magnetizing Cell
A fan motor maker needs a cleaner, more consistent way to fit magnets inside outer rotor cups.
The challenge
- Magnets were placed by hand with brushed adhesive, giving uneven pole spacing.
- Pre-magnetized magnets attracted steel debris and were hard to handle.
- Excess adhesive caused rework.
Our solution
We built a cell where unmagnetized magnets are bonded into the cup with metered adhesive beads and spacing jigs, then magnetized after curing on a capacitor-discharge magnetizer. A flux scan confirms every pole before the rotor moves to assembly.
What the project was designed to deliver
- Even pole spacing on every rotor
- Safer handling with magnetizing done last
- Controlled adhesive use
